Call Me Dee
My name is Dollee Akoth but my friends call me Dee. A wife of Francis, the love of my life. Together, we have six incredible children. I am a stay at home mom, my husband on the other hand lives and works in a different continent so its a pretty long distance marriage.
I was born and raised in rural Kenya, specifically Homa-Bay county and my husband comes from Western Kenya, Busia county to be precise. Being raised in the village and only moving to the city for my undergrad, the village has always had my heart.
I knew I always wanted to go back and settle for the slow life. but I was caught up in the hassles and bustles of the city.
My slow life dreams became more elusive especially because we now had a family, children already in school with the city life being the only lifestyle they knew.
On the other hand, we had made a community of friends and acquaintances in the city. It was so scary uprooting our lives and moving to the life we always envied especially because city life comes with flashy things like modern amenities and easy access to services.
